Cunoaste maximum de diferen-tiere la nivelul suprafetelor palmara si plantara, unde are cea mai mare grosime si este format din cinci straturi: bazal, spi-nos, granules, clar si cornos. In e. subtire, care acopera cea mai mare parte a corpului, stratui clar este, de regula, absent.
